Today I want to share with you some inspiration pieces for Spring 2012. Like everything in fashion, ideas can be inspiring, but sometimes they do not translate well into commercial items... For some of the accessories and shoes below, I like  the concept more than the actual design itself, like the espadrille on heels....

Oie. Hoje decidí dividir com vocês algumas peças conceitos que eu gostei e que me inspiraram...algumas não muito pelo design mas pelo conceito, o que elas representam em termos de tendência - como a espadrille transformada em salto alto.

This shoe design got me inspired as it is simple yet so chic.

Essa sandália me inspirou pelo design e pela mistura perfeita de cores. Simples e chique.

TREND TO WATCH: STRIPED DRESS

It's no news to us that stripes are trending for a couple of seasons now. 

The trend to watch now are the striped dresses, either maxi or mini, these colourful striped dresses are a great option for the hot summer days. I’d pair these dresses with solid accessories like nude platform sandals or solid flats.  You can also accessorize with hats and slim belts or maxi-necklaces for a more polished look.

Invest in a stripped dress and get ready for the summer!

LOUBOUTIN TURNS 20

Religion celebration aside, for kids, Easter means chocolate. Since my other addiction is shoes, for the Easter weekend I've decided to talk about our beloved Louboutin. 

He is celebrating 20 years of career this year and the festivities goes as far as launching a book (already mentioned here) and having an exhibit at The Design Museum in London. The Museum is presenting the first retrospective about the French iconic shoe designer and showcase his creative career, revealing the artistry and theatricality of his shoes. 

Who doesn't love his creations? Let's celebrate his work!

Não entrando no mérito das comemorações religiosas, para as crianças a Páscoa é sinônimo de chocolate. Para os adultos (de dieta), a Páscoa pode ser desculpa para dar asas a outros vícios bem mais saudáveis: os sapatos.

Nosso amado estilista Christian Louboutin está comemorando 20 anos da sua marca com um livro (já falei here) e uma exposição restrospectiva em Londres.

O que mais me encanta nos sapatos desse gênio é que nem todos artistas conseguem criar uma marca que desperta tanto desejo. Mas também quem não ama as criações desse mestre? Nas vitrines aqui em Toronto....

TREND TO WATCH: SUMMER LEATHER

Hello, Hello,
Lightweight leather is no longer reserved for winter. It is the new HIT of the summer.
I love the monochromatic combinations below: 
1. A sleeveless biker jacket thrown over white layers with a biker vibe. 
2. The classic black and white combo with an 80's flare when paired up with stripped pants and zebra prints accessories.
3. Layers of red for a striking combination.
Note that the sleeveless leather jacket is a key item, however, also watch out for the leather shorts, another must have of the season.
TS tip: The leather material serves more as a windbreaker rather than a source of heat. That's why it coulee be worn in the summer.

O couro reina soberano nas composições de verão aqui na América do Norte. O look inspirado nos anos 80 é a nova febre do momento. 

Eu particularmente adoro compor um visual monocromático (dá uma olhada nas imagens acima). 

O colete branco, composto com seus layers, deu um ar chique e moderno ao look biker. O colete preto fez par perfeito com a calça listrada e com o chapéu com detalhe em zebra no melhor estilo anos 80. 

O look monocromático vermelho é de parar o trânsito, né? ARRASHOU.....

Invista em qualquer peça de couro, não só no colete, mas também no shortinho (outro MUST have) da estação.

A dica de hoje: É engano pensar que o couro é usado para aquecer, pois na verdade, o material só mantém a temperatura do corpo.
